Terms of Service

Last updated September 27, 2026

These terms apply to your use of MovieDesk (moviedesk.ai), an AI film production studio operated by Neil Metzger ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using MovieDesk, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy (https://moviedesk.ai/privacy) explains how we handle your data.

The service

MovieDesk is a workspace for writing and organizing film projects, generating images, video and audio with third-party AI providers, and working on projects with collaborators. Features change over time, and we may add, change or remove them.

Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use MovieDesk. Keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity under your account, including actions taken by AI assistants or other tools you connect to it.

Your content

You own the content you upload or create in MovieDesk. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit and display that content only as needed to run MovieDesk for you and the collaborators you share it with, including sending it to AI providers when you ask for a generation. This licence ends when you delete the content, except for backup copies that have not yet expired and copies already shared with collaborators.

You are responsible for making sure you have the rights to what you upload, and for how you use what you make.

AI-generated output

Output from AI models can be inaccurate, unexpected, or similar to output created for other people. Review it before you rely on it or publish it. We cannot promise that output is unique to you or free of third-party rights, and the provider that produced it may have its own terms.

Acceptable use

Do not use MovieDesk to:

  • break the law, or infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights;
  • create or share sexual content involving minors, harassment, hate, threats of violence, or deceptive depictions of real people made without their consent;
  • misuse the generation tools, including trying to get around safety filters or the usage policies of the AI providers we connect to;
  • access projects or accounts you are not authorized to use, or probe, scrape, overload or disrupt the service.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Costs and connected providers

Some generations, video in particular, cost money, and paid generation runs only when you explicitly request it. If you connect your own provider account (for example OpenArt), generations you run through it are billed to that account under that provider's terms, and that spend is your responsibility. If MovieDesk ever charges you directly, the price will be shown before you pay.

Connected tools and AI assistants are optional and are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for them. You can disconnect them at any time.

Ending your use

You can stop using MovieDesk at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or to protect the service or other people, and we will try to give you notice when it is reasonable to do so. The sections on your content, disclaimers and liability continue to apply after your access ends.

Disclaimers

MovieDesk is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to MovieDesk is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the state and country where the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This does not take away any rights you have under the consumer protection laws where you live.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use MovieDesk after a change means you accept the new terms.
